Campus-wide Impact

Benefits of this project extend far beyond what is visible to the eye and well past a construction timeline. The interactive map below gives an overview of the outcomes faculty and staff will see in the coming years.

What to Expect During Construction

Construction will be completed in phases throughout campus. Updates will be given periodically on when to expect some disruption in buildings. We appreciate your patience as we work together to make the University of North Alabama a more energy-forward environment! Here are more details on what this construction phase will look like for you.

Q: When will construction take place?

A: Throughout the next year, construction will take place across 75 buildings on campus.

Q: How will it affect me?

A: Project managers will do their best to organize schedules around campus activities. Some construction, such as LED lighting upgrades, will take place at night.

Q: When will construction finish?

A: Construction is scheduled to be complete by summer of 2020. Please visit our "Track The Progress" page to stay up-to-date.

Q: What will workers be wearing?

A: All construction personnel are required to wear proper identification. You will see personnel wearing green Schneider Electric lanyards with ID cards while working on site.

Q: When will workers be in my building?

A: We will be in every building at various times throughout the project, but we will work hand-in-hand with the campus operations team to ensure there is clear communication prior to possibly invasive work taking place.

Q: What should I be aware of during construction?

A: The construction team's goal is to be the least disruptive as possible. Thank you for your patience as the buildings undergo these transformations.

Q: What safety measures should I take in construction zones?

A: Even though all safety precautions will be in place, it is always best to be aware of your surroundings and marked construction areas.

Q: What safety measures will we take to update the lions' facility?

A: Our team will work with the university's lead lion keeper to discretely install new lighting in the habitat.
